when I reboot get the following messages: "You cannot close Microsoft word
because a dialog is active. Switch to Microsoft Word first and close the
dialog", and "The add-in template is not valid C:\...\startup\~$andvba.dot".
I do not have a word application open and all office updates are current.
Any help would be appreciated

~$andvba.dot is the user file for a template or add-in that is probably no
longer in the Startup folder. Using Windows Explorer, delete this file from
the Startup folder.

Hi there,

I'm encountering a similar error: "You cannot close Microsoft Word because a
dialog is active. Switch to Microsoft Word first and close the dialog." This
comes up at startup, along with a pop-up box for an Office XP End User
License Agreement, asking me to print/accept/decline. Do you know how to fix
it? This has only started ocurring since I downloaded and installed Service
Pack 3 (after several failed installs, I had to download it to my desktop and
use the CDs for MS Outlook 2002 and MS Office XP Professional to get it to
install). Please help, and thanks.

Laura
