"you cannot sort by this field" for "read" column...but I need to.

In my Deleted Items folder, I need to sort by the "Read" column. Currently
there are hundreds of both read and unread messages. But, when clicking on
the "Read" column, I get the message "you cannot sort by this field". Also
when dragging to the space directly above the column, I get the message "you
cannot group by this field".

I also tried to another way, which did not work: In the Mail Folders/ All
Mail Items window, at the bottom, is the Search Folders folder. I
right-clicked on the pre-existing "Unread Mail" folder and selected
"Customize this folder". I then browsed and selected the Deleted Items
folder. Still no joy. Help?

Just create a view that only shows you Unread messages. Probably the
easiest solution.
