"You entered an expression that has an invalid reference to...|"

I am using Windows Vista and just started Access 2003. Many of the practices
on the Microsoft training failed witht the error "You entered an expression
that has an invalid reference to the property |" This happened with the
sample database when I tried to use Label Wizard.
I really need to learn this program. Please help. Thanks in advance. Laurie
