Hi I have just installed Project Server 2003 on a windows 2003 SP1 box

I have selected the mixed autentication, I have registered a new user:

Authenticate user by Windows Authentication

Windows User Account domain\user
User name user
email .. email
Account Status: Active

all groups
all administrative rights.

when I go to the http://servername/project

I type login: domain\user
passwd

or
user
passwd

but i get the following error

You have entered an incorrect user name/password combination. (5002)

I can only login with project accounts.. but not domain accounts

any ideas why?

Greetings

Jesús,

Two comments:

1) Ensure that in the Project Table msp_web_resources, all resources have
the field WRES_USE_NT_LOGON set to 1 (for true).

2) In the PWA-Admin Tab, Check the user/groups permissions. Ensure the
"Log On" flag is set in Global Permissions for group/user.

Hope this helps.

Jesús:

It sounds like you might be trying to type a Windows account into the
Project Server Logon screen. If you've got things configured correctly, you
should never see the logon screen when using Windows authentication.

Jesús:

In order to use Windows Authentication, you need to provide the user with
credentials that are recognizable by your Project Server. You can do this
through domain authentication or local authentication. If I were you, I'd
look at the installation guide and read up on the architecture that places a
server in the DMZ for Internet access to PWA and SharePoint.
