zip codes

I am creating a mail merge from an excel spread sheet. I
have entered zip codes i.e. 07456. I formatted the cell
using the number format for zip codes but when I use the
mail merge it shows up without the 0 (7456). I've tried
changing the format to text but it shows up as 0 not even
the other numbers. This only happens with the zip codes
starting with 0.
