Zoom is resetting to 398%-how do I keep it at 100%?

The print size in normal mode suddenly switched itself to 398%. I've changed
it back using zoom, but it won't accept the change. This is not affecting
print layout view, just normal view.

Also, print layout view has gridlines showing. I've clicked "hide
gridlines" under Table, and the option changes to "show gridlines" but the
gridlines are still there.

I've rebooted the computer and run the "detect and repair" function. I've
also scanned for viruses, but nothing is coming up.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Hi Sandy,

If it were just the grid problem, I'd tell you to display the Drawing
toolbar, click Draw > Grid, and uncheck "Display gridlines on screen". The
combination of the two problems, though, makes me think you may have some
corruption in the Normal.dot template. To cure that, use the process
described at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm under
the heading "Creating a new Normal.dot from scratch".
