How does the Zoom Window command work?
When I am working with a Word file and open another file from the Work menu
or from File > Open Recent, the target file opens in a new window
overlapping the previous window. I would like to use the Zoom Window command
to enlarge the window to the maximum size for my monitor and to position the
upper left corner of the window in the correct position at the top left of
the screen. Approximately 80% of the time the Zoom Window command does this
perfectly. With the other 20%, the window goes to a more or less half-size,
and I have to drag the lower right corner manually to get it to its ideal
position.
In trying to solve the problem, I have experimented with saving the target
file with various screen positions in place, but when I re-open it, the Zoom
Window command always produces a document in half-size.
I¹m using Word 2008 and Mac OS 10.5.7.
Thanks,
Carl
