Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) I need to create new e-book manuals for iPad display and also have exisiting pdf. files to convert without losing the format, also for display on iPad. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Generally, you need a copy of Adobe Acrobat to do a proper job of
manipulating existing PDF files without losing formatting. You can buy it
from the Adobe website for $300.

You can edit PDFs with a variety of cheaper products, but maybe not at
commercial quality.

The following utility ($60.00) claims to be able to convert PDF to ePUB:
