remove returns from pasted text

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Anyone know a way to remove returns from the ends of lines in a paragraph of text that has been pasted into Word from a text editor? "Paste Special" does not seem to offer this function (or at least not that I can find). I used to have a nifty little program (on an older Mac) that allowed you to do this simply by highlighting the text and clicking a button. Can't remember what it was called.

Other programs not req'd. In Word:

Menu: Edit/Replace
Enlarge dialog box with the little arrow on the bottom left corner
At bottom see a full list of things you can search for. Word will put
in the characters you pick in the search or replace box.

If it is a paragraph mark, then pick that which will put a ^p in the
search field. Or if it's another character you are searching for, put
that in, e.g.

It helps if you first show all the special fields in the document: Menu:
Preferences/Tab View, turn on all the non-printing characters.
