Typing fractions

Can someone please tell me how to type fractions such as: 1/3, 2/3, and 1/8,
etc. and have them show up as one digit in Word2002? And unless something
is missing in my version don't tell me to go to Tools|AutoCorrect|AutoFormat
As You Type cause that wont help. This would help me in typing recipes.
Thanks.

In Word, if you want, for instance 2 1/2, type the 2 and then a space
and then the 1/2. The 1/2 should convert to a neat fraction.
Personally, I go back and delete the space between the 2 and the 1/2.

Now, I use Word 2003 but I would think this would also work in 2002.

Chuck,

For 2 1/2 that's fine (in Word) but how about 2 1/3 or 2 2/3 or 2 1/8 ?
Those fractions don't automatically convert to single space digits. That's
what I need to know.

Val, Thanks anyhow but that window doesn't come up in my version of Word.

Thanks Val, No, in my Word 2002 program under Insert|Symbol there is no
1/3. Only 1/8,3/8,5/8, and 7/8.

Val, thanks for the suggestion. I notice Times New Roman has 1/3, 2/3, 1/8,
3/8, 5/8, and 7/8. If you select that font and go to Insert|Symbols. That
should keep me busy!
