Uninstall Microsoft 2008 Project Gallery?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel How do I completely uninstall Microsoft 2008 Project Gallery so that I can reinstall it?

Also, is there a way to custom install Project Gallery from the Microsoft 2008 disk?

I moved some templates over to my Macbook Pro/Leopard from my Power G3 before the corrupt template problem occurred and so I would just like reinstall Project Gallery.

I'm uncertain as to what "corrupt template problem" you're referring to but
there should be no need to reintall Project Gallery. If you have tempates
appearing in it that you no longer want -- whatever the reason -- it's much
safer & easier to use Finder to navigate to the folder where they are stored
then remove or delete the template files. Ripping out an integrated feature
like Project Gallery itself is always a risky proposition.

I have a folder with templates in it and they are both invisible otherwise I would do as you say.

What do you mean by "invisible"? If they're 'invisible' how do you know they
are there? Where - specifically - are you looking?

Please provide a complete & accurate description of the circumstances as
well as what you have set in the Project Gallery's Settings for 'File
Locations'. I'm reasonably certain that the matter can be resolved without
having to re-install anything... And I doubt reinstalling Project Gallery
would change anything - *it* doesn't store nay user files or templates.

The files are visible in Project Gallery but they are invisible in the Template folder, so they can't be removed. The files and the folder are only visible in Project Gallery and no where else.

Sorry, but if you can't take the time to provide the details I asked there's
not much more I can suggest.

I apologize. I didn't see the File Location link in Project Gallery for Local templates, but I'm surprised that the finder's search feature wasn't able to locate the template folder that I thought became invisible. I searched with both Spotlight and a Smart folder.

Thank you

No problem -- Leopard's implementation of Spotlight can be rather
frustrating. It seems to miss an awful lot of what's actually there.

I have one last question.
Do you know if it's possible to put the custom template folder in order under the Category column under the New tab within Project Gallery?

I don't know of any way to do so if your templates are stored in the
"standard" User Templates location. I believe the order defaults to custom
items first followed by the built-in templates. However, you can add
templates in the program's default templates folder as well as create
additional folders within it:

Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/Media/Templates

Just keep in mind that any templates stored there are available to all users
of the system who have access to the Office apps.

I thought that newly created templates went to: Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates.

Is it better to store newly created templates to: Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/Media/Templates?

I thought that newly created templates went to: Library/Application
Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates.

They are. By default, user-created templates are stored in this user account
location. [Actually 1 level deeper in the My Templates folder.] IOW, each
user's custom templates are stored in that user's User Templates/My
Templates folder. However, you can store templates anywhere you wish.

Office 2008/Office/Media/Templates?

I'm not saying it's "better", just that this is the location where the
Office templates provided by Microsoft are stored ‹ separately from those
you create yourself. That's why those stored in the User Templates folder
are not interspersed with these in the Project Gallery list. Templates
stored here are available to all users of the Mac.
