Yesterday I did a clean install of OS X, with all the upgrades, then a clean
install of Orifice 2008. MAU then updated to 12.1.0 without any problem, but
it failed on 12.2.0...

You don't mention the exact error you got this time. Just that it failed to
install 12.2.0.

Is the failure
- no office to update?
- system version wrong version?
- fail during install?

You cannot install Office 2008 12.2.0 Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.

It will not install on any of my volumes, particularly not the one that has Office installed on it. When I run the package that checks the OS, it reports that my version of Leopard is pre 10.4.9. It is in fact 10.5.7...

Never mind...12.2.1 (mysteriously, miraculously and magnificently) works fine, so I shall disappear back into the slimy crocodile infested billabong whence I slithered, after wishing you a nice life.

Monsieur Cretin-Meneur, when they start making the Australian keyboard with the accent aigu, I shall return to spell your name correctly. I guess that'll be when the French invade Australia and win a war without the help of the Americans, Australians and British...'till then, au revoir, mon ami.
