If you are having trouble getting the Gal and Calendar to work here is a how
too

1 get a face to face with your network admin if at all possible.

2 ask the name of the Ldap server that host host the global catalog
If there are more than one get the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of
both of them.

3 ask what is the server name that host the public folders in exchange.
if you do not have public folders which I cannot imagine why not, ask
which server host the free busy. It may not be the exchange server you log
into

4 Make sure you know your http:// address to your OWA server.

Now that you have all your information lets configure.

Account settings:

Account name : is your name

Account ID: is the name you use to use to log into outlook 2001

Domain is the fully qualified domain name you use to use to log into
outlook.

Exchange Server: your http://address to your owa server.
Name: your account id name
E-mail address: your company email address.

Directory Services:

LDAP Server: FQDN of the server the Net Admin Gave you
Click on advanced options
Check server requires me to log in
Check over ride default ldap port.......reason being we are using OWA
Insert 3268
Cross fingers and pray

Click advanced
Insert FQDN of the public folders server remember this can be different from
your exchange server.
In fact as the former exchange admin I was sure I knew the name...I never
would have gotten it in a million years. So be sure to ask.

If I did not say change something or check something leave it as default.

Hope this helps :)

Please only reply to newsgroup with questions.

If the admin told you you do not have to log in try logging in any way.

Sent using the Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac Test Drive.

If you have OWA access you can try a couple other things:

1) Under your Exchange account's settings, set the Exchange server to the
URL of your OWA server. If you are connecting using SSL (https://), be sure
to click the "DAV service requires secure connection" under the Advanced
tab.

2) Exchange servers with OWA may have access to a OWA-based free/busy
server. Where I work, the URL is https://mail.domain.com/public/. You can
place this URL in the Free/Busy server field of the Advanced tab.

With these two, you can access your Exchange mailbox and Free/Busy
information even if you're outside your corporate network. No need to VPN
in! Works great, I'm sitting in a coffee shop with WiFi as I type :)

3) You can get the name of your Directory/LDAP server (if it's configured to
support LDAP queries) through Win Outlook. I'm not sure about older
versions, but in 2003, you can control-right-click on the connection status
area of Outlook (lower right-hand corner, says something like "Connected").
Choose the menu item "Connection Status" and a dialog will pop-up with all
the servers you are connected to. Look for a server of type "Directory."
This may be able to be used as your LDAP server for your Exchange account.
If your Mac isn't able to find the server, you might try running nslookup
<server name> from the Command Prompt in Windows and entering the IP address
in Entourage as the Directory server. Like OWA servers, if your LDAP server
is publicly accessible, you can use it both inside and outside your
corporate intranet. You'll have to ask your IT administrator to be sure of
that one.

Of course, this all depends on your Exchange configuration. The above works
for me, but your results may vary.
