Activation office 2007 professional when starting picture manager

Shame it can't be found in the knowledge base! If it's a bug - then why isn't
the solution provided when you run 'update'?

Hi,

I have the same problems too, 1 of my customer has purchase the Office 2007
SBE media-less license. When my customer starting the Picture Manager the
Activation Wizard pop up and asking for Activation or Purchase of license. I
suspect is my vendor installing the Office Professional version using the SBE
Product Key.

So I try to uninstall the whole Office 2007 and do a fresh install by using
the download version from Microsoft website
"www.microsoft.com/office/backup". Because my customer version don't include
any CDs.

What I have downloaded was the Office 2007 Professional Hybrid version, no
matter how many times I choose my version as "Office Small Business 2007",
the downloaded files still is "Office 2007 Professional Hybrid" version.

So I still use it to install and what I get is still the same thing, even I
didn't choose MS Access during the installation the result is still the same
thing.

So my question is, why Microsoft don't have a link for us who purchase the
Office SBE version to download the installation files instead giving us the
"Office 2007 Professional Hybrid" version to download....

I was thinking if I have the SBE installation files downloaded and plus the
SBE product key from my customer, this problems can be solved.

Please Help.....

Thanks.

Regards,
Soong.

This is the most frustrating way to try to get help for this BUG in
Microsoft's SW. I called the 800# and they wouldn't transfer me to the
PowerPoint team because my laptop came pre-loaded with MS Office SB 2007.
After waiting on hold with IBM they told me it was a MS office! I called MS
back and got a different person, and they transfered me. The PowerPoint Team
also handles Picture Manager, and they knew exactly what I was talking about
and emailed me the work-around. The tech I spoke to was great:
"Vikram Bhatia2" <[email protected]>
Put: "Office 2007 Picture Manager : Activation Issue" in the subject and
request that they send you the fix-it files and instructions.
Good luck!

Hello Bob,

I think the customer maybe installed the trial version of office 2007
professional, since it's included with the other editions.
I had a look at the add/remove programs setup of office 2007, and I saw
access 2007 in there but with a red cross, all other options are set run
from my computer.
Maybe I should try to uninstall everything and make a fresh install

Thanks!

Bob, I hope you can help me. I installed the trial offer of Microsoft Office
Professional 2007 and now I don't know how to take it out of my system. Do
you have any suggestions?

Picture Manager Activation Wizard Fix:

1. Office must be activated, if not, activate it
2. Add/Remove Programs > Office > Change > Convert
3. Enter key again

After that, it shouldn't bother you about activation.

Hi!

I have the same problem described here. I can't see that anyone suggested a
solution that works. Is it not possible to *not* install the trial version of
office pro 2007 when you have the OEM version of Office Small Business 2007?
I really need my picture manager, but I don't want to have to buy a license
for Access that I really *don't* need. Is there any solution to this problem?
Thanks!

When you are using the OEM version of the SBE of Office. The Full
Professional version is installed [including Access] from the CD but only the
components of Office for which you have purchased the licence are 'activated'
- you then have a trial period for the other components - in this case
'Access'. It seems that the problem is that 'Picture Manager' also falls into
this category. However, Picture Manager is not listed as a part of Office on
any of the 'whats in which version' charts - hence the question.

You said there is a trial version of Access. I assumed you either had a
trial version of Office Pro preinstalled or downloaded a trial version of
Pro. I've read of too many problems whichever a trial version is left on a
computer and a paid suite is installed on top.

A couple of months ago I supplied a client with a new PC. She
specifically required Word, Outlook and Picture Manager, so I
pre-installed Office 2007 with a licence for OEM Office Basic. She is
now finding that she is unable to use Picture Manager as the 60 day
trial period has expired. Before supplying this Basic variant of Office
2007 I researched the product to confirm that Picture Manager is
supplied as a full (not trial) product on all variant's of office. I
have spent more than two hours on the Microsoft helpdesk but they have
not been able to explain why this has happened nor hare they been able
to resolve the problem.

Mary
This certainly looks as though it should resolve my problem. I will ge
back to my client and try it out. I'll report back if it's successful.
Many thanks

I'm having the same problem with a twist. I do not want, do not need
and have never used Picture Manager. I have other software that I us
for image editing. Until last week, I was using Windows Picture and Fa
Viewer. Beginning last week, everything started opening with Pictur
Manager, with an annoying popup come-on to purchase Office Professional

I do not want anything to do with Picture Manager. I have tried to se
the default back to the Windows viewer without success. I feel tha
Microsnot has taken over my computer, and that this is basically
malware attack. Is there anything I can do, short of having t
reinstall Office

Hi all,

I for one did not know that this was a microsoft related forum, so am a
little confused as to why all this aggression is being shown. Thanks
all the same for the explanation.

I too had this problem just today and I fixed it by installing
Microsfoft Office Service Pack 2.

I thank you...

P.S. I managed to quote properly!
