Apple scripts dont work for IMAP?

what should I check/do? thanks. I 'll do it.

Compare your database file to a new Identity created in the new User. I'm
not sure how you managed to do this. I've never seen that happen.

Diane, just realized, some of the scripts work, and some work partly, and one I really need, nuke email, wont work at all in imap

I don't know what to say. It works for me. Did you try selecting it from the
script menu rather than using the shortcut?

Diane, you have nuke messages script too?
Maybe I can send you mine.
Yes, tried it from menu.

PS this nuke says cmD, mine in Contol D. don't know if that means anything

It's possible Control-D has been pre-emptied by an application or system
shortcut.

Script shortcuts are easy to change. See this article to get started.

Diane, just retested for the Menu, and still get
"Apple event timed out"

this is the key. what does that mean? and why does it only appear with imap?

Sounds like a problem with the script. Did you try the one in my link?

I didn't try becuase it does work perfectly and has been working perfectly with POP for 8 years. but I'll give it a shot.

Diane,
the new script, now actually works, but only 1/2 way.
It deltes the email from spam, but then move it so the trash. So then I have to manually delete it from trash again.
The old nuke, would really nuke! They would be nuked instantly. They would not appear again in trash folder.
In short, not working like the old nuke in POP.

For me the script nukes. Test in a new Identity. See if it will nuke the
welcome message. If yes, then there is something in your current Entourage
setup that is changing the behavior.

Ahh, have to creat new imaps accounts there...
actually, I'm leaning towards going back to POP on G5 and keeping imap on laptop just for peeking at emails. POP is a bit more stable and faster.

Again, not more stable, and faster is relative. It just depends on how
you prefer to operate. Both have advantages.
