BEST PROGRAM IF.......

OneNote is supposed to accomplish this ....
"Have one convenient place to capture all of your notes and
information."

That is exactly what it does in the following applications. Both
applications below use OneNote as the application platform

http://www.abletfactory.com/EMRToolkit/index An Electronic Medical Record
System for documenting patient charting

http://www.abletfactoyr.com/eScriptToolkit An ePrescribing Solution built
around OneNote
- it utterly fails in this regard. With almost no meaningful
integration into Outlook/Word/Access/Excel/Windows File System.

Both of the above mentioned applications directly import data from Access.
The first has an Access Database that includes patient demographic data.
The second interfaces with a Drug Database (Access 35,000 records).
Navigation, file management, sending information either via email,
publishing to a patient web portal, protecting file access to compy with
HIPAA requirements are all features supported by OneNote.

What about my company documents ? Oh, you have to use something else
for that.
What about my appointments ? Oh, use something else
Etc ... etc ...

I'm working on a scheduling module for the EMRToolkit that will be fully
contained with OneNote.
OneNote is not a convenient place for all my information.

I disagree. OneNote is a perfect place for my information and that of my
physician customers.

Please feel free to visit the website in my sig for screenshots that show
how OneNote can be used.

That is because perhaps you don't seem to get it. There are already
existing programs (including Microsoft's Office, the world's most popular
business applications) for those functions. You're wanting to change
something, and you're looking in the wrong direction. I think you need to
change your usage desires.

BTW - You've now at least twice posted in this newsgroup that OneNote sales
are low. I asked before, and will hereby ask again: Could you please
furnish the location and validity of that information? I would like to see
what you're quoting for myself.

This is at least the second time I've asked for verification of your sales
statement. Please do so.

You can get them refurbished on eBay for a very reasonable price, which is
where I got mine. Just be sure to use a reputable seller.

After I went to Office 2003 and SP1, I've had a much better experience with
integration, so I fail to see what you're getting at. I can 'surf up' a
page, drop it in ON or whatever right as I'm sitting in my easy chair. With
the various snippers and power toys you can get, it's a snap and a breeze. I
fail to see that it 'utterly fails.'

The COMPUTER itself is the convenient place for your information, learning
to integrate the various programs is a user function and requires months of
patient effort to master. ON is just one tool in our little bag of tricks.
It's too complex to be easily simplified. If total simplification is the
answer, I'd toss my computers in the trash, buy a notepad and pen or just dig
ditches for a living. :)

I was intrigued to download a trial version because ON seems to support the
rather crooked path I follow while researching. I find something I want to
use later, or am reminded of something I need to do and I can easily keep
track of it all. My notes can be coded for later sorting with the note
flags. I am not using it smoothly yet, but am learning.
