Cannot download Access 2007 templates

Well i solved my templates problem... I ended up losing a crucial dll file
over the weekend and had to reload windows completely. I had been working
with Microsoft Access support team (Very Very helpful people - thanks Donald
M.) and started to make some headway. So i can not be of much help in solving
the problem from here on out. With all the testing and experimenting we did
it was narrowed down to something in the registry.

But i have one question for the users who are having this problem...
do you have a file named Q815021_WXP_SP2_ia64_ENU.exe on your system?
I performed a windows update around the time the template issue started and
this is one of the download/updates that was processed. According to MS this
file is the incorrect version for my operating system - but it downloaded
anyway. Just a thought that it may have corrupted the registry file enough to
affect Access.
I am interested in the responses on the above file.
Good luck
John

I am having the same problem. I have uninstalled Office 07 and
reinstalled it and the problem is still there. I have another message
that comes up before the "Template...could not be instantiated."
error. SQL Distibuted management objects (SQL-DMO) must be on the
machine running Microsoft Office Access. From what I have read this
is associated with Office 2000. Something else I have discovered is
that this maybe associated with XP SP2. We had SP2 pushed out the
night before I started having this issue. I'm hoping for a solution.

Please try the following steps *carefully* and report back what happens:

1. Click the Windows Start button, then click the Run option.
2. Enter CMD and click OK to open a command window.
3. Type CD "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado"
4. Now type regsvr32 /u msado15.dll (wait for confirmation message, then
click OK)
5. Now type regsvr32 msado15.dll (wait for confirmation message, then
click OK)

Step 3 unregisters msado15.dll and step 4 re-registers it.

Can you instantiate the templates now?

I am having the same problem, but it starts downloading the template - then I
get a status bar with a message "Please wait while Microsoft Office Access
prepares the template for use." It gets about 1/4 of th way and I get a
second message - "SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) must be on the
machine running Microsoft Office Access." I am running XP, and Access 2007.
I downloaded some in the past, but suddenly it will no longer work. I tried
the steps to unregister and re-register the .dll file, but that didn't do
anything. I would appreciate any help.
