Cannot find file SKU112.cab after installation

Thanks for that. That site looks promising.

I have managed to find what files are on the CD and none of them are the
required one. I am being asked for SKU112.cab and I have SKU026.cab,
SKU0A4.cab and SKU1E3.cab.

I have managed to find the MSOCache folder on the C: drive, and it seems to
contain SKU112.xml (but not .cab). This appears to be a note form of an
executable file.

I will try some of the options decribe in the website.

Will come back to let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the tips.

Maybe something in here will help.

(I had to ask about the term crash because crashing does not necessarily
mean that your hard drive died. Usually it means that something stopped
working and you had to restart your system.)

Sadly it was a hardware 'crash' and I could get nothing at all off the old
disc. The new one was just that, ie new with only the original
applications
included - not Office.

I only have the Office professional Edition 2003 disc (and a separate one
with Service Pack 2 on it). I have tried using 'Search' to locate the
file
on the CD (and incidentally on the C: drive) but it says it cannot be
found
(even when looking for 'hidden' files).

Is it possible to post the file or can I get it from a Microsoft site? Or
any other ideas?

Thanks for the response.

That file is on the CD however it looks like it's found on the Standard
Edition. When your hard drive "crashed", did you reformat it or did you
just
start dumping software on it without any cleanup?

My hard drive crashed and was replaced under warranty with Win XP
pre-installed. I installed Office Professional 2003 from disc (inc
SP2).
It
semed fine for about a month then dropped all its edit functions. I
have
reinstalled several times but during StartUp I still get repeated
requests
to
insert the original CD as file SKU112.cab cannot be located. The file
is
not
apparently on the CD. Even after cancelling the request, it repeats
for
each
of the main Office programs (Excel, Powerpoint).

I have also run Norton virus scan across the whole machine with nil
results.
I have disabled the viru protections whilst reinstalling also.

My only thought is that the required file isn't even an Office file but
is
a
Windows file. Either that or it has somehow become corrupted and
cannot
be
located.

Is there any way I can obtain the files online? Or any toher
suggestions.

Thanks
