Cant get Speech recognition to work, hardware tested fine.

I have installed speech recognition. I have tested the hardware it seems to
be working fine, but I am not able to create a language profile, and the
voice training wizard will not initialize. It also seems to be asking to
choose a different

I have the correct head gear for voice recognition with the filters.

Can anyone help me. It also tells me in control panel/speech: could not
initialize volume meter, and please select another audio imput device.

I have XP Professional Edition

Here it is in a nut shell: My daughter has the same operating system as I
do. I installed speech recognition just fine.

When I went into speech in word 2003 it started installing and I ok'd the
installation. I did not have a microphone headset at that time so I could
not complete the installation correctly. Apparently if you do not do it
correctly the first time you're scrood - to put it bluntly.

I have also tried reinstalling MicroSoft Office. Still did not work.

I have the language bar, but I do not have the function of the
Speech/Microphone wizard. The wizard will not initialize. This became
inopperable after the incomplete installation of Speech through word. The
microphone wizard is the key to making the program work. I also get some
error readings when I try to create a language profile. DLL errors. I would
imagine the file has been corrupted in some way. The speech component needs
to be re-installed. It does not help to use the function of reintallation
through Control Panel/Add remove change programs. I have tried it many times.

Disable speech recognition in Windows XP.
Restart the computer.
Install the microphone headset.
Restart the computer.
Enable speech recognition in Windows XP.
Install speech recognition in Office 2003.
