Can't print from Word 2008 (Excel prints OK)

Hi Phillip:

Look up the specs for the Epson C120 and all will become clear...

The driver in the box supports only the PPC. The driver for Intel on the
website is in beta...

Cheers

I'm not understanding why you have to use a special driver for the Epson
printers. Although that might be an Epson problem.

I've used a HP990cse inkjet attached to a Airport Express for couple of
years now.

The only problem I run into with anything is checking Ink levels on
OSX.3.9 when I have my laptop running I don't even have a problem with
that. just plug into the USB connector on on the airport express. The go
to printer utility and set up for the printer on network and *your ready
to ride Clyde*.

Hp Printer are just so much better. most the paper lays flat as in a
laser printer or copying machine most allow foe built in front and back
printing. And the best I like of all is each time you buy a new
cartridge you get a new print head. On Epson if print heads get clogged
and they can't be unclogged you either have to deep six the printer and
buy a new one or send and have repaired and by the time you do that, it
would be better to deep six printer. Its a lot cheaper to replace ink
Cartridges than printers. I'm still using the same DJ990cse I bought
originally new.

I've used three printers since I've first had a Mac. (SE/30) an Apple
Imagewriter II.

Then I first had a DJ 650c, then this 990cse. So talk about HP printer
being reliable.

People fuss about the expense HP Cartridges. but the advantage is with
each Cartridge you get the new print head so Its like putting in a new
set of heads for price of cartridge.

There is an issue with the Gutenprint drivers and *some* Epson printers
with Word. If the Epson printer supports resolutions above 2880x720
(2880x1440 may be OK), you will probably only get blank pages from Word
2004 or Word 2008. The Gutenpring developers are aware of the problem
and the issue should be resolved with the next release of the Gutenprint
drivers.

The Epson c120 is one of the effected printers. The Epson c80 should be
OK.

Another reason I am not a fan of Epson.

On the 990cse the driver for OX4.x is universal which means should work
wit OSX.5 and possibly Intel.

Just went to HP driver site and checked for OSX.5 support there is
actually a list of all HP printer that work with OSX.5.x Most already
built into OSX.5.
