Before you jump off and advertise that this is the worst place in the world
to come for help, you might want to give the newsgroup another chance. You
may even get to like it here. Now that you have identified yourself, things
will more than likely get a lot better ;-o))
For the past couple of years this newsgroup has been inundated with
spammers. People who just suggest their products without trying to really
solve the users question. So when someone new shows up and replies to a
large number of questions with basically the same reply and a new product it
is not hard to jump to the wrong conclusion.

Thank you very much for your helpful comments.
I am very new to this site and to be perfectly frank I wish I hadn't
bothered.
I do feel, however, that subscribers should find out whether or not the
person
is a spammer first before passing judgement.
I have complained to Microsoft about the unpleasant attitude of people on
this site and I will certainly pass on my experiences to any UK individuals
who wish access it.
"Innocent until proven guilty" is the old adage.Perhaps some of the
subscribers
should bear that in mind.
Once again thank you for your helpful comments and for taking the time to
explain.
