Dash conversion on letter plus hyphen

I assume you've already disabled "Detect language automatically"? Also, I
assume you're aware that a language can travel on as little as a single
character (say an invisible space carried along without your noticing it).

I assume that person disabled "detect language automatically."

They are discussing an East Asian aspect of the language bug that causes
many other problems. I haven't paid much attention to that thread because I
use Japanese in many of my documents, but the basic problems seems to be that
once Word has determined that your document has something to do with Chinese,
Japanese or Korean it never lets go.

This problem is *really* bad in Word 2008, but I personally do not have
trouble with it in Word 2007, which I why I recently switched back to 2007.
