Huh. Odd. It shouldn't have touched the boldface. Losing the centering
is to be expected, if you manually applied that--I could probably
clarify in the article. Thanks much for the report.

Command + Option + q is "Reset Paragraph". It will clean out all paragraph
formatting back to the formatting of the underlying style.

The Outline Level is the property you want to reset, but the command will
also reset the Justification, losing the centring.

Why would you not use Format>Style to set the "Centre" justification for
Heading 1 style? Then it will stay centred when you rest.
