Elements Gallery on Word 2008

Dear all:

I find the elements gallery on Word 2008 for Mac extremely annoying.

This is the bar that contains "Document Elements" "Quick Tables"
"Charts" "SmartArt Graphics" and "Word Art" in the window you work in.

I do not plan to ever use any of those features.

Is there a way to remove this bar? If not, is it likely Microsoft will
include a way to removeit in the next product update?

Dear all:

I find the elements gallery on Word 2008 for Mac extremely annoying.
How can I get rid of a few elements from the Element Gallery which have somehow "crept" into a document I'm working on? this happened because the Gallery bar activated accidentally, and then as I was trying to minimize it, a few elements got into my document. Now I can't find the way to delete those elements. Thank you.

I second this! I have sacrificed infinitely more useful menu's than the "Element's gallery" in order to save screen space in MS Word on my 13" laptop.

And just at the last hurdle, a defunct, irritating and immoveable slice of screen wasted. Like an obstinate little boil on my arse. I would gladly take a fart in a space suit before this. Cheers Microsoft!
