Entourage version didn't change

I just installed Office 2008 12.0.1 and noticed that while there was supposed to be an update to Entourage, the Entourage version in Entourage -> About Entourage didn't change. It still reports that it is 12.0, not 12.0.1 (080305).

It was updated nonetheless, as the sounds are now back again for Leopard
users. For some reason, the MacBU chose not to/forgot to update the version
number for Entourage.

same here.
all the other apps have the correct version, hopefully this is an oversight
and the app was actually updated.

This is not good, not good at all.
I've seen that on one of the Mac here as well. Recovering from it hasn't
been trivial as I cannot re-run the updater.
I ended up deinstalling everything, then checking /Library/Receipts to
trash all Office2008 receipts, and then reinstalling.

I then used the Activity monitor to make really really really sure that
the database daemon was *NOT* running and re-ran the updater.
It proceeded properly from there and I now have 12.0.1 everywhere.

Well that's not the case here. There is clearly a problem (and I do have
12.0.1 on my Mac(s) now),

I suspect that aprt of the app is indeed updated, but the installer
sliently fails on some of them and you end-up with some sort of "hybrid"
situation.

This is clearly not good at all!!!

Yes mine updated to 12.0.1 and I also did the manual download. Have
not tested the sync function to see if it has improved based on the
release notes. Will do that tonight. But, there are Apple sync
services issues independently of Entourage so its a touch difficult to
know what is at the route of the problem but I'm hoping for
improvement.

How do you uninstall the update? All my Office Apps are at 12.0.1
EXCEPT Entourage which is at 12.0.0. I made sure the database daemon
wasnt running and then tried to reinstall, but it will not allow me to
choose a volume on which to install the update!

I did the same fix you describe and I'm still showing 12.0. I know I'm
updated because I can hear the sounds.

I would not uninstall. Wait to hear for a fix. If Entourage is running
sounds again, you know you are updated. It's just not showing it.

Hello,

We are actively looking into this issue and will post more information as it
becomes available. We have heard of some customers having their apps all
updated while others did not get Entourage updated as part of the 12.0.1
update.

Thanks

The question is: are you completley updated or do you have some sort of
half-updated hybrid version :-\

Well, in order to fix the issue, I completely uninstalled Office, then
reinstalled it, made sure nothing was running (check the Database daemon
in the Activity monitor to make sure it is not running and quit it from
there if it is), then reinstalled the update.

Now everything on my Mac is 12.0.1,

I did quit everything (including , and after the update my Entourage is
still showing 12.0.0. In addition, my Office Reminders is still at 12.0.0.

I am running on

Intel (MacBook Pro)
10.4.11
Still have Office 2004 installed

Also, when I ran the Auto Updater, it wasn't finding any update. I
downloaded the update dmg and ran manually.

I don't believe it is up on the auto-update servers yet,

I ended up doing a "Remove Office" and re-install. I'm updated now.

Hi,

Any idea if you can confirm the update was applied correctly or not ? I'd
rather not uninstall the whole suite and try again.

I ran the update on two machines: on my powerbook G4 the update went fine,
showing the correct 12.0.1 version number. However, after I ran the update
on my Macbook Entourage is still showing 12.0.0 on this machine. Both
laptops run Leopard 10.5.2.

Regards,

Eric

It "could" be that the FInder is simply not reflecting the cahnge, but
if you reboot and it still says 12.0, as far as I am concerned, it
failed at some point.
