Error 2711 on Installation of Beta 2 of Office

S

Steven Paplanus

I have recently tried to install a copy of office 2007 beta 2, with the goal
to install it on a copy on a Vista RC1 box and apply the technical refresh.
When I tried to install, about 25% of the way, I received an internal error
message 2711: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 (Beta) encounterd an
error during setup. Error 2711. An internal error has occured.
(GraphicsFiltersCDRFilesIntl_1033 ).

I had the same message occur on a Windows XP SP2 box and this had RC1 of the
3.0 .NET framework. Is there a workaround or something I am missing?

I'm getting the exact same error, also trying to install on Vista RC1 before
applying the technical refresh.

The same here. Any solutions? Tried to create slipstream Beta 2 TR installer,
but it didn't help.

Is your Vista install a clean install or an upgrade from XP?

Mine's an upgrade, but I'm thinking about wiping and installing clean to see
if that makes Beta 2 TR happier.

Success!

I realized it must've been related to shared components still left on the
machine. Even though I'd uninstalled Office 2003, I still had the Expression
Web Beta installed.

I uninstalled Expression, and Office 2007 Beta 2 installed fine. Now I'm
installing OneNote, which I assume will also go fine, then I'll install the
TR.
