How do I get rid of the activation error in office 2007?

I just can't understand why the impatient rush. Since they should only be
using the beta for testing purposes, it seems these people don't have enough
things to do beside this. I'd rather spend time with my husband or even,
heaven forbid, do laundry or wash dishes, than fuss about having to wait a
few extra hours or days to activate a beta.

Jo Ann,

You mean you STOP the engine when you change a fan belt? Quaint
custom! <grin/>

The activation process is successfully processing a (small?)
proportion of those who try to activate.

So for the user it's a choice - persevere or postpone.

Can you imagine trying to fix the problem with people trying to activate
the
beta every 30 minutes? It would be like trying to replace a fan belt on a
car with the engine running.

Server are heavily loaded.

Either wait until the servers are less heavily loaded or keep trying.
Not satisfactory I know, but it's the short term choice.

I'm having trouble activating MS Office 2007 Professional Plus Beta
2(upgrade
from MS Office 2003 Professional). Similar symptoms occur with One note
and
visio (all 2007 Beta 2).

1. Launch any microsoft office 2007 program
2. Help > Activate Product > Use Internet (only option) > Activation
Wizard
with progress bar > Progress till about two fifths of the bar > Error
saying
"Activation wizard unable to find a connection to the internet. Please
make
sure that your connection is working properly and then retry activation
in
a
few minutes."

Very very annoying. I just have some 30 more times that I can use this
software. I also ran the Office diagnostics. It fixed one problem in the
last
step without any more details (the step where it says analyzing 1 of 16
packages).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
