how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup

I have installed office 2007 on two computers without problems, on my other
computer however every time i start office 2007 it configues from scratch and
takes ages to load. Any solutions would be welcome. I have tried reinstalling.

Hi, i've been busy on this problem a few days and i found the solution.
The problem is that there are permissions issues of some registr
entries.

There two ways of fixing this problem.
1. Fix every registry entry that's on your PC
( a few websites/forums advise this)
2. Fix only the registry entries which are 'broken'
( that's my approach )

Either way you would have to use SubInAcl. 'Download it

This tool allows us to edit registry entries even those which you nee
special rights for.
We will make simple files, depending on the application you need t
fix, with code that will fix your registry entries.

1. Download and install SubinAcl.
2. Locate the install folder (default is Program Files/Windows Resourc
Kits/Tools/)
3. Open Notepad
4. Add the lines you need for your applications (you can find the line
bellow)
5. Save the file as "Officefix.cmd" in the folder where you foun
SubinAcl.
6. Open the officefix.cmd

This problem started on my installation of Office 2007 on Vista 64-bi
as soon as I installed Visio 2007.

I had reformated the hard drive, reinstalled Vista, and then Offic
2007. All worked great until a few days later when I installed Visio.
Then it was back to the same problem. I have another machine wit
Office 2007 and Vista runnning just fine for over a year. That instal
does _not_ have Visio.

Your solution fixed Office 2007, but did not have the lines for Visio
So I figured I'd Add them:

I'm still trying to get this to work. I've run the acl in. I have a
MS Access application that uses MS Access 2003 RT but no othe
components of MS Access 2003. I have MS Access 2007 installed to
because it is the corporate office system. When I the App and run M
Access 2007, I get configuration dialog from the later, which I have t
let finish. The next time I run the App, it too runs a config dialog.

I can try to help you out, but i'll need some information from you.
I'll need some information from you'r logfiles, to get this informatio
follow the next steps.
These steps are based on Vista but will probably not differ much fro
another windows Operation System.

First open MS Access and wait while it's configuring.
-This way the last entry in the logfile will be an error from Access.-
When Access is all finished you can close it and open the configuratio
panel.
Then make sure the configuration panel is showing the 'classic view'.
Now find the Administrative tools, open it and then open the 'Even
Viewer'
-in XP go to Adminstrative tools, open Computer Management and then i
the console tree expand Event viewer-
Expand the Windows Logs in the tree, then click the application folde
which is now shown.
You will see a large list of logs at the center of your screen, fin
the first 2 warnings from the top down.
If I am correct the source of the warnings will be "MsiInstaller" an
the id's will be 1001 and 1004.
I need the general information from these warnings, especially with i
1004 which contains the resource. For example:
-Detection of product '{90120000-00B4-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}', featur
'PROJECTFilesIntl_1033', componen
'{D7DA3BED-BCC0-4381-904A-DEB81A4C7B07}' failed.
_The_resource_'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSProject.ALL.9\Display\1033'_ does no
exist.-
So select the complete warning like I did and copy it (press CTRL and
at the same time) and post it here.

I've googled your warning and the best thing i could find for you i

It looks like this page deals exactly with the problem your dealin
with.
But since i can't reconstruct your situation you'll have to do it wit
my advice, meaning that I can't be sure this will actually be th
solution.

work I do I get the configuration process which is very much a nuisance but
never high on the priority list. I get the same namespace warnings in the
event log. Never did get it figured out. Is this worth paying for a support
call? (I'm working remotely and a bit uneasy trying to get into the computer

Hi guys, I'm receiving the same message. Started after I installed 2007
upgrade from 2003. Access graphs keeps reinstalling. Looking at event logs
finds 'GetUserDefaultLCID failed, restorting to system verion' which probably
explains the reconfiguring every time. How do I fix?

fix, with code that will fix your registry entries.

4. Add the lines you need for your applications (you can find the lines
bellow)
5. Save the file as "Officefix.cmd" in the folder where you found
SubinAcl.
6. Open the officefix.cmd
