How to change properties in FP 2003 Remote site properites box

Ok, we need to clear some entries from the registry.
Close FrontPage.
Click Start > Run and type: regedit
and then click OK.
In the window that opens, click the plus sign by HKEY_CURRENT_USER
and then keep clicking plus signs until you are here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage Explorer\Recent Publish
List

Click once on Recent Publish list.
Then in the right panel, right click on and then select delete for each entry listed except
the one named Default.
The entries to delete will be Web0, Web1 and so on.

Then do the same for the entries listed here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Webs\Opened

When done, close regedit and reopen FrontPage and it will not have any "history" of any webs
and you should be able to re-enter your web location.

Hi Steve,
I downloaded FP Cleaner and ran it, also went to My Network Places but did
not find any references to the site there. I wish I could say that it
worked, but the unwanted ftp address is still listed and I'm still getting
the errors.

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download
FP Cleaner.

Run the functions that clear the Cache(.web) files and the FrontPage
Temporary files.

Then open My network places ( Sometimes called Network Neighborhood )
and delete any references to the website.

Let us know if it helps.
The next step is to delete some registry entries.

Hi Tom,
Yes, I've tried both the FrontPage SE's option, typing in the URL
http://weidnerpainthorses.com (both with and without the www)
I've also tried using the ftp option using the ftp URL supplied by my web
host, PowWeb. That's where the URL was put in incorrectly and I cannot
seem
to change it. It will 'attempt' to find the site when I type it in but
always gives me the error "The folder 'weidnerpainthorses' does not exist
on
the remote web location.
Would you like a folder created at that location?" Sometimes the local web
files will show in the left window, but not always. I never gain access
to
the remote site.

:

With your local web open in FP, are you using File | Publish site and
putting in the http url?

I use to own a registered thoroughbred that we trained as a Hunter / Jumper.
His linage went back to War Admiral on one side and Man 'O War on the other.
Showed him all over Florida for a few years.

Hi Steve,
Just one question, I'm as far as the Front Page Explorer folder but when I
open it I do not find 'Recent Publish List'.
The 'Lists' I did find were: Recent File List, Recent Page List, Recent
Theme List and Recent Web List. I'm assuming the last one is the one I want
because it names 'Web1, Web2, Web 3 etc. WeiderPaintHorses.com is listed
there.

Me again. I went into every Front Page Explorer file and deleted every
reference to the weidner website. It doesn't seem to change anything as far
as publishing. It still gives me the same error messages.
Strange thing is, it will let me open and publish my own site, but again,
it won't let me publish thru the server extensions option. I am so
perplexed. With FP 02 I was able to upload to the weidner site, no problems
(with the ftp). Makes me think I should just go back to the 02 version.
(course, now that probably won't work either!)
There HAS to be a logical solution for this problem.

If you have published using FTP you have broken the extensions on the server
and they need to be reset.

Hi Steve,
Did ALL of the things you suggested..... and still cannot publish the
weidner website by any method. Mine, the bbruckner site is also the same as
it was.........I can publish via the ftp but not the server extensions.
I even disabled my antivirus and spyware programs.

I'm so discouraged, don't know where to go from here.......can't afford
Microsoft's support........

Betcha dollars to donuts, the host is not resetting the FP extensions.
Do you have a friend with FP that you trust enough to give them the un/pw
and let them try with a diff. machine?
Are both those webs on the same host?

Don't give up.
Let me think about this for a bit and post back.

There are some "dots" that aren't connecting here.!!
Just need to figure out which ones.!!
