Keyboard in German = Word in German ?

Hi

I m a french user of word, but my laptop is German (german Keyboard). As
with this keyboard, it s difficult to use accents, I stopped using them even
in French.
But this is a problem for me:
Each time Word start the default spelling language is German. I choose the
"find automatically the language" but as I do not use accent in my french
word it quite difficult for the application to find the proper language to
use. I do not want to remove this "automatic laguage selection" as I often
write in English, but I would like that the default language for speling in
Word is FRench.

Some ideas?

It s what i tried at first. I tried using the default language french(first
tab) with a German keyboard(last tab). But without success.
In case I change the last tab, either my language is French and keyboard
french (which is not what i want as I have a german keyboard).

I think as with many applications, Word takes its default language from the
Regional Settings in Control Panel.

Which is something I really hate... The fact that I am writing on an Italian
sysdtem does not mean that I am writing in Italian language. I can write in
English, Italian, Spanish or French. It is up to me to decide. In my
opinion, it should be possible to have an option that tells Office in which
language I usually write documents, with the possibility to associate to
each document its own language. In practise you would have

1. the default language of your system
2. the default language of your documents
3. the language of a specific document
4. the language of a piece of a text in a specific document
