Media disk for office 2007 from MS?

Gordon

It's not Dabs fault. I bought it.

My question was:

"I bought a licence but it came without the media. Is there way to
buy a CD from MS or download from the MS Website?. "

Your answer was basically - return it and pay for the retail version.
A great help.

As it is the licence that is the important thing rather than the media,
there is another option. Find a friend who has the same version and make a
copy of his/her disk...it must be the SAME version though....

You purchased a licence that is required to activate a preinstalled,
*specific version* of MS Office
For the actual warning, from dabs, regarding this you have to dig into the
dabs site.
Return it & purchase the correct package

That was my first port of call but sadly I could not find anyone with
Office Pro 2007.

The download version i found worked and has now installed.

I am surprised how hard it is to get the media. I have scratched
disks overtime before for other softwares and had no problem
obtaining new media.

And just any Office Pro disk won't work. You need the version that is
supplied at the link I gave for the Medialess License kit (middle link for
first post or the UK version of the same post.) No other version, even the
downloadable trial will work. It must be either the OPK installation that
was installed by the original computer manufacturer (which you don't have)
or the one that is available from Microsoft as part of the MLK licensing
program. If that was possible to be purchased you technically would be in
violation of the licensing agreement as the disk is to "reinstall" the
software, not for a new installation.

You are right, it isn't Dabs fault. It is yours for not reading all the
information given to you on their site. Now have you even bothered to read
any of the links I gave? If not you are still at fault for buying the wrong
license pack and still trying to work around the issue. You thought you
were getting a good deal by purchasing a "cheap" product instead of the more
expensive version and you got just what you paid for. If it hasn't been
opened return it (if you can) take the loss and buy the full product with
the media.
