I have been unsuccessful in installing the Beta version of MS Office
Professional 7 downloaded from the Microsoft site. The installation proceeds
without problem until the end, when I receive the following error message:
Error 1406. Setup cannot write the value BandCLSID to the registry key
\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions\{92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263}. Verify that you
have sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact Microsoft
Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance. For information about how to
contact PSS, see
C:\DOCUMEN~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\OWP16.tmp\office.en-us\PSS10R.CHM.
The file PSS10R.CHM does not exist in that directory. When I called
Microsoft Product Support, they were particularly unhelpful, Can anybody
assist me with this issue, or should I simply chuck the beta version and wait
until the product is available.
Thanks very much.
