My Outlook dilemma

It doesn't have to.

IMAP accounts have their own PSTs.
POP3 accounts can be set to have their own PSTs as of Outlook 2007.

Tools -> Account Settings -> Change Folder -> New Outlook Data File

Call it whatever you want if you don't like the name "Persona
Folders".

This is a very flexible product.

What about this:
"Microsoft Outlook 2007 suffers from performance problems when .PST an
.OST files are used. Opening new messages, moving between messages (eve
without the preview pane open), deleting or moving messages -- almos
anything that involves accessing items in a .PST file -- eventuall
begins to exhibit terrible slowdowns in Outlook 2007. The problem is no
uniform. Some clients exhibit it far more than others, most likely du
to user work habits, but all Outlook 2007 installations exhibit th
problem to some degree"

Thank you

I have not experienced these symptoms. While they may exist, I don't
consider this a material reason for my concern.

Perhaps I should delete the old "Outlook" profile, making it delault
and reset my PDA and start the partnership over. Thank you.

I wouldn't delete the old profile until you have things working as you wish.
Use the Mail applet to ask or always use the new profile.

I've never seen those symptoms. Where did you see this posted?

I really appreciate all of your assistance and guidance, BUT BEFORE:
I had 7 email accounts, one of which was exchange 2003 accessed vi
pop, and everything went to one place. I could work my calendar an
contacts from Outlook, and monitor all email with one click. My PDA go
3 emails on it through one connection and the battery lasted 24 hours.
AFTER:
I tried the MS Online Services setup which created a new profile, an
email checking took 5 times longer than before. My administrator sai
they couldn't pop through exchange 2007. My PDA was checking exchange
pop and email, and the battery lasted 5 hours.
RESULT:
I had the administrator forward my email to the imap account, and I a
starting my safe list over. I hesitate to think an upgrade can make i
more complex to accomplish my daily tasks of 3 jobs.
I respect all contributors and understand that perhaps I have been o
overkill by using Outlook since the mid 90's, not to mention over $300
buying new versions.
Thank you

Do you still have a question?

As far as I can tell, we resolved all initial concerns. You can export
and import your safe senders list, by the way. No need to start over.

Yes, you answered my concerns, but as you can see, I elected not t
have an exchange "ost" email in my profile. I deleted the old profile
where does the "old" safe list reside?
Where do I vote helpful?
Thank you

You are accessing this forum through a different site that does not have
full functionality as far as posts are concerned. Don't worry about it. :)

Please start a new thread if you have further questions.

Good luck!
