While tabs is a major visual difference, it is not the only change. There
are a lot of technical changes "under the hood" which improves your browsing
experience as well such as better security, improved and faster rendering of
the pages, visual notifications to see if a website is secure or not, etc...

Just give it another spin, it could take a little bit of getting used to but
getting stuck to IE6 really isn't the answer.

I did not receive your response because for some reason when I received the
alert to your penultimate response and clicked on the reply link where it
asks if you want to receive further alerts it was not working in fact I had
to logon to the website to read your penultimate reply. I have only just seen
your last reply by logging on.

Maybe I will give IE a go.
