Have just performed a clean install of Vista Build 5456 and Office 2007 Beta
2 now installs without a hitch. It seems the Upgrade option may still have a
few wrinkles - I guess you can't expect everything to be perfect when dealing
with beta releases

rather than a fresh install. Am about to reinstall this build (5456) so will
soon see if that solves the problem

After furious head scratching, crayola_kidd asked:
| Has anyone else been able to get Office 2007 to install o n the
| latest Vista (build 5456) release. After updating, it tried to
| reconfigure Word when attempting to open, which failed. I uninstalled
| (which incidently was not the cleanest uninstall in history) and then
| tried reinstalling, first as a normal install and then using the
| compatability wizard as XP SP2. Both times it got about half way
| through the install process before displaying the following error
| message:
|
| Error 1935. An Error occured dureing the installation of assembly
| component {97F81AF1-0E47-DC99-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x8007054F.

| I had no problems either installing or running under the 5384 build,
| so am wondering why the problems now. Is this because build id
| released further up the decelopment (RC) tree rather than a further
| development of the Beta 2 branch?? And if so, is there either a temp
| means of getting Office beta 2 to work or a new build soon to be
| released??
|
| Cheers in advance
