Problems installing Office 2007 on Vista RTM

The Proof.fr folder contained two files that did not match the hash values
assigned to them and validated in the setup.xml! This is why the setup
stops and prompts for the file, even when you point to the correct
subdirectory. Hopefully and new version will be posted on MSDN SOON>

Hi Ken,

It may be a bad download. There was a small glitch in one that I downloaded.

What size are you showing when you right click on Proof.msi and Proof.cab in the Proof.fr folder? (those two file names are repeated
for each proofing language folder).

The file sizes matched exactly in the extracted Office 2007 RTM with those of the \Proofing.en-us as did the MD5 has values listed
in tht folder's setup.xml using MS's FCIV utility to check.

I recommend that you re-download the iso, and get Daemon Tools V4.06
(supports Vista) virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator. Be sure to create a restore
point *before* installing DT V4.06.

Then mount the iso image. That's what I did. It's worked great for me.

Thanks all for the suggestions. After trying a few things I decided the burn
the image onto a CD and that installed fine, therefore the original ISO is
fine. Whether this was a problem with the ISO in combination with Daemon
tools or a fault with my USB key (where I had the ISO image) I don't know.

Thanks again.
