Product activation from behind a proxy server needed

P

Prashant Meswani

I'm testing the Office 2007 Beta product from behind a proxy server. When
trying to activate the product, it fails saying that it cannot connect to the
internet. IE is configured to go through a proxy server and is able to access
the internet, however when activating the beta product, it tries to access
the internet directly and fails. It would be nice to be able to activate the
product as bypassing the proxy server is not an option.

I have a similar problem I am on a router rather than a proxy. All my
internet programs are live 24/7 but the activation wizard cannot detect the
connection. When this gets sorted, can someone email me at
(e-mail address removed) as I intend removing the 2007 Beta now as it will only
annoy me to have it continually nagging for activation. Thanks

Sounds like I'm in the same boat as well. Sounds like a pretty basic issue
they should have addressed but so it goes.
