Product key and activation problems in Office 2003

there ist a problem with microsoft.
I try to activate my office 2003 via phone. and they tell me, that there is
a technical problem with microsoft. and, that I have to retry on monday!!
Normaly I am one of the guys thinking friendly about ms, but that ist not to
accept - tomorrow I'm traveling with my brandnew notebook abroad.
But, what can I do?

would not tell me that. I hope if it does not work after Monday we can still
return our software for a new working copy.

If you clear the temporary internet files (browser cache) from Internet Explorer then start an Office 2003 app and try to activate
via the internet what result do you get? (Be sure to check that your firewall allows this communication to occur).

Apparently this problem was due to the Office 2007 beta. I tried the
automatic activation again today and it worked fine the first time. I am
glad the install worked and I was able to use the product for the week
without the activation. The allowing of retries and a time period to
activate is a good feature, it allowed me to work in spite of the
difficulties.
