Tom:
Others, sorry but I am using Outlook Express version 6. I just dchecked
the
.pst file size and before deleting 6 messages in my inbox and clearing
deleted items the file size was 9.161mb. After deleting the 6 messages
the
file size was 8.94mb and date stamped with the current time.
I'm using this forum because that was where I was directed.
Regardless of what you all are saying the .pst file is used by Outlook
Express.

Why are you posting about Outlook Express in an Outlook newsgroup?
Sorry, Outlook Express, which is a different program, does NOT use pst.
That is exclusive to Outlook. OE use .dbx files.

: Beg to differ, if you remove the file, Outlook express will not work.
: Message headers still show up but the messages cannot be opened.
