.PST File in Outlook Express 6

When you do, be sure to provide more information than you did here. Clearly
OE does not use a PST file. That is not in dispute. However, you said you
were "exporting email." That could mean anything. Exactly what were you
doing? Were you exporting to Outlook? If so, a stalled or failed export
routine may have created a link to a PST file that has corrupted your OE
identity.
Nevertheless, you have an OE problem here, not an Outlook problem.

What an arrogant attitude.

Are you running OE6. Will log a trouble call with Microsoft and see if
they
can help.

Sorry, Bobby. Nobody can help you anywhere, because the PST file is for
Outlook, not Outlook Express. You either don't get it or you are
intentionally trolling this group.

If you have ever heard of Google, you might start there.

I tried exporting mail yesterday and each time I did the export the local
file outlook.pst grew by 9MB.

File is Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/outlook.pst
How do I clean up this file?
Is there an easy way to backup Outlook Express 6 Mail data?

Outlook Express doesn't use, nor can it open, .PST files.

Outlook Express data files are the .dbx files and probably a .pab file
(address book file).

FWIW - Outlook Express does use the .PST file. When OE is set to share
Outlook Contacts, which is embedded in the .PST file, it is using the .PST
file.

Then you've posted inaccurately. You said you were using Outlook 2003. The
option for the WAB to use Outlook contacts has not existed since the long
defunct Outlook 2000 IMO mode.

With Outlook 2002/2003 you could, using a registry hack, force the WIndows
Address Book to use Outlook's Outlook Address Book service as a data source,
but it cannot do that unless YOU specifically modified the registry, so
there's no way to plead ignorance. I don't think the hack works for Outlook
2007, but I haven't tried it.

No, I stated that I was having the problem with OE6 on my laptop. I have
office 2000 on the laptop and at one time was using Outlook there but was
having trouble with it and POP3 mail so I switched to OE6. I am using
Outlook 2003 (Office 2003) on my desktop.

Well that's news to me. It does not seem to be supported in, or by,
Outlook 2007. I have tried OE (latest, 6.00.2900) and I can't find
anything, or anyway, to get it to read an Outlook PST file.
