Really that troublesome to use Auditing "toolbar" in office 2007

I agree with Kent. If he has to use that 100 times of trace dependence in
his work as an spreadsheet auditor, then that will be really slow and not
efficient, and the most important is - ANNOYING, as you cant concentrate on
what you do because the auditing toolbar is not a handy toolbar beside you
and your pointer has to constantly go up and down, up and down for 100 times
........

The bottom line is, why we change from a fast and convenient interface to a
somewhat slower interface? Sorry to say that I have enough hearing complain
about excel 2007 ribbon interface from experience user ... just the name of
the interface is changed to a sweeter and cuter word (ribbon), but the
usability is really xxxx.

I totally agree with Kent but not Gordon.
I use auditing toolbar quite often too in engineering design because the
formula is too complex, too long and involved so many parameters, and from
time to time the formula will have to be revised to meet the change of
industries standard.
It is a nitemare to make change in formula cell referencing, in order to
know changing of this cell what will be affected, which cell will not be in
used anymore, how to arrange the spreadsheet in better view etc etc etc.
And hence, auditing toolbar is really useful. I use that often not because I
dont know well of the spreadsheet or something wrong with the spreadsheet
design.

Im wondering why you said "I dont need to use Auditing" unless you are just
creating a A + B = C formula in spreadsheet.

Hi Apic,

If you start Excel 2007, go to the Formula tab, and in the Formula Auditing group if you right click on the individual buttons in
that group, for example 'Trace Precedents' is there a choice for 'Add to Quick Access Toolbar' for that button?

I tried that here, it doest work to me. Those button in dialog box cant be
added to QAT. >>

You can agree with Kent and then you're both wrong. You simply add them
to the QAT, end of problem.

Add them to the QAT, this is not an issue. Too much time has been spent
bellyaching about a problem that doesn't exist.

There are several methods of adding them to the QAT. R-clicking on a
button and picking "Add" from the menu, or r-clicking the QAT and
selecting Customize the QAT, or r-clicking the Ribbon and select
Customize the QAT. In the latter two you may choose many buttons to add
before you close.
