Why won't Office Pro 2003 Update automatically even after detect/.

Same thing for me. I replaced my HD with a Maxtor and transferred everything
over. Everything EXCEPT my Office 2003 Pro works fine. I ran the Windows
Installer clean up and re-installed Office as recommended. All the Office
programs work fine, but I cannot update them. Windows XP update works OK.

I found this and after following all the suggestions that applied, I was able
to get my Office 2003 updates. I think my .net version 1.1 or my activex was
corrupted. I don't know for sure what was wrong but this link solved it
forme. I had to install .net again and activex plus I had to install the
windows installer fix it program again and again until I got the program to
show in my programs. Interesting. I run a very standard system. No changes to
defaults. Here is the page:
