word 10.1.2 crashes a lot all of a sudden

Hi Paul,

Let me make sure I understand -- I was supposed to ³remove office² before I
installed the updates? This is very confusing. Sorry to be so thick but how
can I update something that isn¹t there?

In order to do this cleanly, you should Remove Office, reinstall from the
CD, and then apply the updates. I assumed (without checking) that the URL
link Beth provided probably told you the same thing, so I didn't repeat it.

Paul's correct, Sarah. I'm sure I gave you the URL, however ...
<http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/RemoveReinstall.htm>

Work through ALL of the steps and you should be fine. You do have the
entire suite of Office X applications, don't you? Well, the procedure
involves running the Remove Office tool from the CD (which removes all of
Office including the updates), reinstalling Office and then reinstalling the
updates. The article above lays it out step by step.

Hi Paul and Beth,

Yes, you did give me the URL but I haven¹t yet done the re-install so I
haven¹t yet read through the steps. I was just surprised because evidently I
hadn¹t done it right the first time (the updates I mean). I¹m glad I asked
for clarification before repeating the same mistake.

Wish me luck!
Sarah
