I said no promises. I would suggest posting your question in a Windows
newsgroup, not Office. Maybe one of the MVPs over there can help you.

It installed the SAME DLL as was on his workstation before (I did a FC at
the command prompt) and the result was the same.

JoAnn Paules said:Try this, no promises:
Go to your C:windowssystem32 folder and DELETE the LegitCheckControl.dll
file. Then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/Validate.aspx?displaylang=en
and revalidate. That will reload the DLL file correctly. Reboot your
computer after this.

There was recently an issue with the validation process and it caused
that result. How long ago did you try this?

Hi,
On one of our computers, when we go on the following Microsoft web
site http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and we click on Validate
Office, we received the message "Validation Unsuccessful". If I do
the same on another machine we received the message "Validation
Successful". We are using a corporate licence with the same number on
every machine. Can someone tell me if they encounter that situation?
Thank you
Jacques
