Firstly, may I say how grateful I am for this help from everyone- my
knowledge about the operating system etc is sketch to say the least- so you
can see your assistance is invaluable.

Have now completely reinstalled MS Office XP Small Business and nothing has
changed.

Am I right in assuming the problem must be in my Windows XP professional
operating system??

I have a re-installation disc which I am nervous about using as I dont know
what effects will be caused by taking this action i.e. changes to my system

Suddenlt I cannot access "Help" in any of my Office applications.

Can anyone help??

When I click "help", the help dialogue box opens but without the expevted
help topics. Instead I get the following in the text box:
