It appears I may have the same or similar problem, but I am not clear how to
solve it.
I am trying to update Ofice 2000 with SP3 and get the same msg as ghost rider.
I have the (2) Office2000 Small Business and the (1)Works 2000 disks, but in
Add/Remove I can see that I have on my pc;
Office 2000 SR-1 Disc 2;
Office 2000 SR-1 Premium;
Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business;
Works 2000;
(and also Outlook Express 5).
What do I do? The installation process asks for the Office 2000 SR-1 Premium
disk to get data.msi file.
I am worried about deleting programs and losing any asscociated data from my
pc.........
Thanks for any help. Very frustrated, Jon.

Hi, kmgoff30,

Word is part of Works. That's why the Windows Installer wants to have the
Works CD when updating Office 2000, because it detects Word is there.
Data1.msi exists on a variety of product CDs. When prompted, insert each
disk in turn until the Windows Installer gets what it's looking for.

No need to uninstall anything, as far as I can see from your inquiry.
