Well, it looks like I am not alone. I was worried that it had to do with the
re-installation of Windows Vista and Office 2007 B2TR. I have no tries left
so I am screwed until it gets fixed. I hope MS is reading these posts.

Oddly enough, my Visio was having the same problem, but today at lunch it
magically worked. I tried Office right away, but still had the error. ARGH.

Microsoft should take more care of their beta tester

You are NOT a beta tester, your posting in this newsgroup proves it.
Beta testers have their own private newsgroup to discuss issues and
formal procedures for reporting problems.
Running a beta program does not make you a beta tester.

As for activation, try this as posted by "Jacques Trépanier"
===============================================================
Try deleting the file:

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\application data\Office Genuine Advantage\data\data.dat

And do the validation process again. It worked for us!
=================================================================

Hope this works for you, good luck!

After reading what Milly answered the another post (I replied to her) I went
to teh MS Web site and the Office Beta 2 site is still up, you can still
download the software and the bottom of the Office Beta 2 page still shows
the following:

Expiration Date
All 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 software has an expiration date of
February 1, 2007. After expiration, 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 will
continue to work in a reduced functionality mode that limits your options and
operations.

This would mean that the activation should still work and there is no good
reason that we cannot activate Office B2TR today. I am guessing MS is having
major issues with the activation server. Seeing as the official launch is
not far away it is not a very good sign of things to come if a bad server is
the actual case.
