Latest I believe there is a problem with the way that Vista is
'burning' the ISO. I'm making enquiries and hope to have an answer tomorrow
morning.

I just logged in to say the same thing. I unpacked the ISO with WinRAR,
and setup ran fine!

Aha! The issue isn;t with Office 2007, it's with the way the Disks are
created. I used WinRar to make a Hard Drive Folder. I also used my CD-Rom,
but wrote it at a slower speed than the CD/DVD Writer is capable of writing
at. I used 8x anhjd both Track-at-once and disk-at once.

Iused both a Memorex DL DVD-RW Drive and the Plextor PX-755SA Drive. Both
worked at a slower write speed.

I'm not sure if this is the way that they are packed or it is a Vista
problem.

I moved the ISO file to my Windows XP machine and burnt it to CD and it
worked. Both the new Windows Vista installation and the Windows XP machines
are using identical Nero 7.5 (latest version) and identical LGE DVD burners:
this makes me think it is a Vista problem rather than the ISO.

However, the good news is that we now know the problem and Office 2007 has
installed fine.

Thanks for everyone's contribution.

It doesn't seem to be just Vista, as I couldn't read my original CDs
from XP x64 either, and I didn't write the CDs under Vista.

Is this a Nero problem, as I am using Nero 7 also?

Well to add to the confusion, I realise now that I downloaded both Vista and
Office finals from MSDN site and burnt them both to CD or DVD on the same
computer which had Windows Vista RC2 and Nero 7.5 installed at that time (in
fact it is the same machine that I am now running the final versions).

So if Vista ISO burnt OK to DVD, why didn't Office ISO burn to CD?

I think we can safely eliminate any hardware problem: Vista seems the most
likely suspect but Nero is not ruled out of the equation.
