I received this error after downloading the trial of Ofc 2003. After many
attempts and a lot of frustration, I see that MS somewhat touched on this
subject and suggested to use the CleanUp Utility. I did that, which erased
my previous registry info for Ofc XP, in hopes of getting Ofc 2003 to work.
Still get the same error. I have moved the old version of Ofc (XP) out of
the Windows file to see if that caused the problem; same error: Fatal Error
Occurred.

From reading Google, it appears that many people are having this problem
without any assistance or clue as to how to fix it.
