Office 2007 beta 2 Setup Error

P

Patrik Jonsson

I uninstalled Desktop Search, it has been crashing for me several times since
I installed an update for it (may have been a beta-version) and the
installation worked perfectly!

Although I chose to uninstall previous versions of Office (2003 in my case),
it seems that it has been left intact on my computer, but I can live with a
manual uninstall.

I hope this solution works for the rest of you with the same problem.

I'm glad I am not the only one experiencing this problem.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any resolutions to the problem.

Has any managed to fix this? I have tried everything short of
re-installing the base OS. I had no issues with the Office 2007
Pre-Release.

Regards,

Jesse

Actually, this happened to me as well and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
I had Office XP and Outlook 2003 installed and tried various methods leading
me to uninstall them all, not do any customization, yadda yadda...
I even went into the installation folder and manually tried to install stuff
but that was of no use.

What ended up working, which I thought was a possibility but unlikely, was
re-d/ling the file. I figured if that d/l was bad, it wouldn't have
decompressed and gone through most of the setup. But much to my surprise the
new d/l ended up working. Go figure.
